Our Parish Tree/Bush/Grass Project to restore the area around the pond has been an enormous success.  St. James campus will have 37 new trees, 22
bushes and 38 grasses!  THANK YOU, parishioners and families for your generous Lenten donations!

Now comes the hard work of planting!  On April 27th, the day after Arbor Day, from 8 am – Noon, EVERYONE – adults, teens and families are encouraged to help with planting.  Any time you can offer during that 4 hour slot is greatly appreciated.  Johnson Nursery will be demonstrating how to plant – then it’s our job to do the planting.  Please, bring spade shovels and rakes.  Any questions please contact Mike at 262-250-2660.  Pray for good weather!

This spring St. James parishioners will have the opportunity to have their pictures taken by a professional photographer for a new complimentary pictorial directory.

Early bird sign up is available on-line. If you are unable to sign up on-line, please call the parish office at 262-251-3944.

Follow the prompts to schedule your family’s appointment time. If you have 6 or more in your family please use 2 consecutive time slots. The online scheduling  option is available Monday through Friday. Appointments fill up quickly, so schedule as soon as possible to secure your preferred date and time.

Parishioners who have their photos taken will be able to view their images immediately and will receive a complimentary 8 x 10 photo in addition to the complimentary pictorial directory. Additional portraits will be available for purchase.

Our directory will not be complete without YOU! 

Do you enjoy welcoming others and possess the ability to help build community?  If so, you can put your talent to work by assisting the Stewardship Comm

Fellowship Subcommittee
Serve coffee and treats on Sundays after Mass.  This monthly event is missed by many.  Use your talents to help to get this up and running again.

New Member Welcoming Subcommittee
Welcome prospective members and new members by staffing our Welcome Station each weekend.  You can also help meet and greet new members at the new member breakfast which is held quarterly.

Funeral Luncheon Hospitality Ministry

Looking for additional people interested in St. James Funeral Luncheon Hospitality Ministry.  This Ministry will offer hospitality support to families hosting catered funeral luncheons at St. James Community Center following a funeral Mass.  If interested in serving as part of this ministry group, please contact Carole McGibany at mcgibanyc@gmail.com or 262-366-5624.

Liturgical Ministers

Do you want to take a more active role in the Mass?  Do you have a heart of service?  Please call the parish office to join one of the ministries that make our vibrant Masses possible.  We are looking for youth and adults to serve in the following areas:  Greeters, Ushers, Lectors, Acolytes (servers at the Altar), musicians, singers and Eucharistic Ministers.  Call the parish office at 262-251-3944 to learn more.

Sandwich Makers

St. James & Good Shepherd Anti-Trafficking Ministry makes lunch once a month for Franciscan Peacemakers Street Ministry.  Contact Deb Schneider at djschneider86@gmail.com.

St. Ben’s Meal Program

Consider donating food to the St. Ben’s Community Meal.  St. James provides and serves food once a month (the third Wednesday) at St. Ben’s meal site on 9^th Street in Milwaukee. We need parishioners to bring salads (no lettuce), fruits, vegetables, or meat or seafood casseroles/pastas to St. James.  Please write on foil/wrap whether it is salad, vegetable, or casserole.  Please drop your donations off any time between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm at St. James in the upstairs kitchen.  Our driver leaves promptly at 3:45.  If you have questions call Lynn at 262-227-9862.  We suggest using throw away dishes.

Do you know a St. James parishioner who is homebound?  If so, please invite them to contact Kristin Winter, the Pastoral Health Care Coordinator, at 262-250-2663 or kwinter@stjames-parish.com.  Kristen reaches out to homebound parish members and connecting them with the St. James community through mailed bulletins, phone calls and home visits.  We want to make sure that all homebound parishioners know that they are a valued part of our community.

The Community Banquet is a free meal offered twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.  Volunteers from community churches take turns providing the meals, set-up and provide desserts and clean up.  The purpose of Community Banquet is to serve a nutriious, hot meal and a time of fellowship for anyone who chooses to attend.  All are welcome to attend.  We are also looking for help with Cooking, baking and clean up on the following dates.  This is a great way for families and youth to serve.  Contact Sue at sdevine-simon@stjames-parish.com or 262-253-2904 if you are interested in getting more information or would like to volunteer.
