Celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism at St. James

At St. James Parish, we joyfully celebrate new life and the gift of family. Baptism is not only a sacred moment for your child, but also a celebration for our whole parish community. We’re honored to walk with you as you prepare for this beautiful sacrament and welcome your little one into our family of faith.

When Are Baptisms Celebrated?

Baptisms are generally celebrated during weekend Masses on the third full weekend of the month. Baptisms are not scheduled during February and March because of Lent or during December because of Advent.

2027 Baptism Dates:

Jan 16–17 • Apr 17–18 • May 15–16 • Jun 19–20 • Jul 17–18 • Aug 14–15 • Sept 18–19 • Oct 16–17 • Nov 20–21

Baptisms may be scheduled at any of our weekend Masses:

Private Baptisms may be arranged for families with special circumstances. Please contact Kristin to discuss your family’s needs and scheduling options.

Preparing for Baptism

Parents are invited to begin preparing for their child’s Baptism by completing the following steps.

• Register with St. James Parish: Parents should be registered members of St. James Parish. New to St. James? Click here to join our parish.
• Attend Baptism Preparation: Parents preparing to have their first child baptized, as well as families who are new to St. James, are asked to attend a Baptism Preparation session. During this session, we’ll discuss the meaning of Baptism, the symbols and rituals of the sacrament, and the important role parents play in nurturing their child’s faith.
  • When: Offered regularly throughout the year, with additional dates available by appointment.
  • Where: Great Room, just off the church’s Gathering Space.
  • Length: Approximately one hour.

2027 Baptism Preparation Dates:

Jan 3 • Jan 31 • Mar 7 • Apr 11 • Jun 6 • Jul 11 • Sept 12 • Oct 3 • Nov 7

If you’ve already had a child baptized at St. James, the preparation session isn’t required again, but you’re always welcome to join us for a refresher!
