Reverend John Hemsing

Fr. John earned his Master of Divinity from Saint Francis de Sales Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Graduate Theological Foundation, South Bend, Ind. He was ordained to the priesthood May 20, 1988. He was the former rector of St. Francis De Sales Seminary in Milwaukee where he served from October 1, 2011 until June 2022. Prior to this he served as pastor of Lumen Christi Parish, Mequon, and was pastor at St. Clare Parish, Wind Lake, from 1996-2008. Fr. John’s first appointment as an associate pastor was at St. Mary Parish, Waukesha, 1993-1996. He also served as a pastoral team member at Immaculate Conception Parish, Milwaukee, from 1988-1993. Fr. Hemsing has also served the archdiocese as a member of the Archdiocesan College of Consultors, since 2005, as well as a dean, District three, from 2002-2008.


Deacon Lance Tappa

Dcn. Lance was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on September 10th, 2022.  He served at St. Mary’s and St. Anthony’s in Menomonee Falls until June of 2024 when he came on as the deacon for St. James.  As both a member of clergy and also a lay person, Lance works at FIS Global where he is employed as Director of Product Partnerships.  Lance and his wife Angie have been married for 26 years, live in Sussex and have three boys – Logan (19), Carson (17) and Ben (14).  Dcn. Lance looks forward to carrying out his threefold ministry of the diaconate – Ministry of the Word (preach, evangelize, catechize), Ministry of Liturgy (serve at altar, sacraments) and Ministry of Charity (serve the poor and elderly, jail ministry, Cooperating Churches of Sussex).

As pastoral musician, Barb coordinates and directs all aspects of the music ministry here at St. James, facilitating the assembly’s sung prayer. She also coordinates the liturgical ministries of greeter, usher, lector, acolyte, Eucharistic minister and environment that serve the worshiping community.

Terri takes care of all the financial records and personnel issues related to the St. James parish. This allows the Pastor to focus his work on the Spiritual part of the parish.


 

Michelle Beimborn

Michelle takes care of all secretarial duties for the parish and all committees of the parish. She publishes the bulletin every week, newsletter every other month and helps with registering new parishioners. She also maintains and updates the St. James website.

Miriam helps with the accounting, bookkeeping, financial statements and reports, accounts payable and receivable. In addition, she helps out with administrative work.


Sue Devine-Simon

Sue oversees and directs the Christian Formation Department. Her primary duties also include facilitating the GIFT program and directing the Confirmation program.  She assists in other programs as needed.   Sue is always looking for ways to engage families in faith formation either in CF gatherings, Parish celebrations, or in the domestic church of the home. Contact her if you have a good idea to share! Sue has been in ministry for 35 years as Youth Minister, Pastoral Associate, and a Child and Family Minister. Her educational background is in Theology and Religious Studies with degrees from Marquette University and Cardinal Stritch University. She lives in Helenville, WI with her husband and 4 children.

Areas of responsibility include Christian formation classes  for 6th-10th graders, middle and high school youth groups and service opportunities, college-age and young adult ministry and summer mission trips. They find ways to bring together youth from St. James and Good Shepherd in Menomonee Falls.


Kristin Kebis

Kristin’s areas of responsibility include Christian Formation classes for children in 3K-5th grade, Break Open the Word, and Vacation Bible School.  She is also responsible for the preparation & celebration of the sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.  She loves to learn about new technology, and manages the social media and livestreaming ministries for the parish.

Kristin graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in Communications and has a lay ministry certificate from Cardinal Stritch University.  She served as a catechist for many years before joining the parish staff.  Kristin enjoys working with our children & families, and is happy to have the opportunity to help our youngest parishioners build a solid faith foundation.

Works full time as Administrative Assistant for Christian Formation. She supports the Formation Program for K4 through Grade 11 as well as the Adult and Family programs and activities. Some of her responsibilities include registration for classes and behind the scenes organization of materials for traditional classes and the GIFT program, as well as coordinating volunteers and correspondence for the Christian Formation Office.

Kristen works closely with the pastoral staff to coordinate a healing ministry within the parish focusing on Mind, Body and Spirit.  She coordinates the Health Ministry and serves as educator, referral agent, advocate, and on-site facilitator based on the needs of the parishioners.
