Financial Administrative Assistant

St. James Parish has an opening for a Financial Administrative Assistant. This position works in collaboration with and supports the Director of Administrative Services (DAS) in the daily aspects of financial reporting for the parish. Major responsibilities include processing weekly cash deposits and journal entries, weekly preparation of accounts payable checks, monthly reconciliation of bank and investment accounts and preparation of monthly financial reports for the DAS and Finance Council.

An associate or bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, along with prior bookkeeping or accounting experience, is preferred. Successful candidates will be self motivated, detail oriented and possess strong interpersonal skills. This position is non-exempt and may be part-time (24–28 hours per week) or full-time (30–32 hours per week). Full-time position includes benefits, with weekly hours not to exceed 32.
