We are very fortunate here at St. James to host Strong Bodies in conjunction with UW Extension. If you are interested in beginning a strength training regimen, this class may be for you. Bone and muscle loss begin early and Strong Bodies strength training can reverse the process. The benefits of strength training are a reduced risk for chronic diseases: diabetes, high blood pressure, some cancers, osteoporosis, arthritis, and heart disease. You will notice increased bone density, muscle mass, strength, as well as an increased ability to do activities of daily living. This class was developed for middle-age and older adults, but these exercises can be a benefit to people of all ages looking to improve their physical well-being.
